THEAUS CARBON
The Energy
Transition Platform
Built in Alberta.
Built for Canada.
Available globally.
Theaus Carbon builds innovative, scalable pathways grounded in Alberta expertise, Indigenous engagement, Canadian policy alignment, and global market access, bringing transparency and trust to carbon and capital markets.
The Energy Transition
Optimizing energy assets for the transition.
We will bring resource owners worldwide into the energy transition, starting in Alberta, which has one of the world’s largest resource bases and the expertise to lead it. What has been missing is the infrastructure to turn those resources into verified carbon assets and connect them to the markets that need them. Theaus Carbon is that infrastructure.
Carbon as an asset
From carbon credits to carbon assets
Carbon credits gave the market its first common unit: a verified climate outcome, made transferable. As the market matured, buyers learned to separate high integrity from the rest, and stronger outcomes began to be structured less like one-time offsets and more like assets that can be held, financed, and traded.
A carbon asset starts with that same verified climate outcome, then adds the rigor and structure institutions look for: a real resource, an engineered baseline, and the ability to be owned and underwritten, not simply retired. Each one is built and tracked across its full life through our Digital Pipeline.
What We Do
The Digital Pipeline for the Energy Transition
From asset to verified outcome to value back. We design methodologies, build pathways tied to real assets and operating contexts, then carry them across the full lifecycle to market with transparency at every step.
Design
Methodologies and pathways tied to global assets and resources.
Verify
Independent VVBs and ISO-aligned, institutional-grade assurance.
Market
Digitized, registry-listed, and connected to carbon and capital markets.
Allocate
Value back to Indigenous participation, the energy transition, and project assurance.
Indigenous Participation & Stewardship
Foundational to every step, in alliance with NorthernNations Cooperative (NNC)
Core Pathways
Pathways built for scale
Our pathway portfolio is designed to grow. Today we are focused on methane abatement, sequestered oil, and additional emerging pathways connected to global resources.
Methane Abatement
A scalable pathway addressing methane emissions tied to mature and inactive oil and gas infrastructure across Alberta.
Learn moreSequestered Oil
High-integrity carbon assets backed by the commitment never to extract the oil, keeping it permanently in its original deep geologic formation.
Learn moreEmerging Pathways
Additional pathways under development connected to Alberta’s resource base, including biochar from Alberta’s forests, coal displacement, and other environmental attributes.
