    Edition 5

    WSCIO Indigenous Stewardship Framework Signed by Participating Nations

    All seven Participating Nations signed the Wildwood Sequestered Carbon-Intensive Oil (WSCIO) Indigenous Stewardship Framework, placing Indigenous Nations at the structural foundation of the WSCIO project through governance, economics, and long-term stewardship.

    Methane Abatement first VVB site visit completed

    The Methane Abatement pathway moved into active field execution, with Carbon Check completing the first Validation and Verification Body site visit covering wells under the first 11-well Project Design Document near Provost, Alberta.

    Theaus Global Stewardship Framework v2.0 finalized

    The Theaus Global Stewardship Framework was updated to version 2.0, reflecting integration of the Indigenous Stewardship Framework and the evolution of the platform across multiple pathways. Under TGSF v2.0, at least 50% of gross Project revenue is committed to Indigenous participation and the energy transition: 30% to Indigenous participation and stewardship, and 20% to energy transition investments.

    Blockchain issuance infrastructure went live

    Theaus Carbon finalized blockchain infrastructure supporting carbon assets, including issuance architecture, blockchain framework, and public tracking tools available through the website and powered by the Liquid Network.

    Additional carbon credit pathways expanded

    In addition to the initial sequestered oil project, Theaus Carbon continued to develop additional carbon pathways across methane abatement, solid-form bitumen, and emerging pathways exploring biochar and coal displacement.

    ICR process progressed

    Stakeholder consultation began as part of the International Carbon Registry process for the second Project Design Document, with verification by Carbon Check and credit issuance to follow subject to registry timelines.

    Independent validation and verification completed

    After nearly four years of work, Theaus Carbon completed independent validation and verification for its initial project design document, establishing an institutional-grade pathway with governance, monitoring, and third-party assurance.

    CCA1 project figures published

    The initial PDD reported 3,035,608 ex-post tCO2e verified and 1,875,858 ex-ante tCO2e validated for planned oil production volumes associated with CCA1.

    Northern Trust Carbon Ecosystem Carbon Book debut

    Theaus Carbon's project appeared in Northern Trust Carbon Ecosystem's January 2026 Carbon Book for the first time.

    Financial assurance secured

    Theaus Carbon put in place a project financial assurance guarantee designed to support the costs of the first eight years of the project, with intent to establish a dedicated assurance account funded from initial carbon credit revenues.

    Carbon Check completed Alberta site review

    Carbon Check completed its on-site field review for the project in Alberta as part of the validation and verification process for the initial Project Design Document.

    ICR pathway: second PDD advanced

    Theaus Carbon prepared an additional PDD for a separate project area to be submitted to a VVB for validation and verification under the International Carbon Registry program.

    Theaus Global Stewardship Framework v1.0 released

    Theaus Carbon released and formally approved the Theaus Global Stewardship Framework (TGSF) v1.0, establishing its governance foundation for transparency, long-term sustainability, and permanent impact.
